What is Arthralgia?

Arthralgia is a term used for joint pains without clear swelling. This can mean persistent or recurring joint discomfort and stiffness without a clear diagnosis at the outset. Symptoms may be subtle, intermittent, or variable, and routine blood tests or imaging may appear normal. In some cases, these symptoms represent early or evolving inflammatory or autoimmune conditions. Careful clinical evaluation, attention to symptom patterns, and longitudinal follow-up are important to arrive at an accurate diagnosis and determine  the next steps in care.
